QUALIFICATIONS

• A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in roofing, siding, builder remodel, and window sales/estimating preferred; or experience in at least one of those disciplines.
• A solid understanding of roofing/siding/window products and procedures.
• Strong computer skills, as well as experience with estimating and CRM programs.
• Experience with takeoffs, and possess analytical and math skills.
• Excellent communication skills and a well-spoken voice are required, as you are required to communicate with customers, vendors, team members, and owners.
• Ability to understand technical drawings and requirements, as needed.
• Self-starter and driven to succeed, must be able to work in an independent environment.
• Highly coachable.
• Capable of receiving instructions and clearly explaining problems and solutions to customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• As the company’s “first face,” you represent Apex in the best possible way to prospective customers.
• Meet or exceed given sales volume goals at proper profit margins.
• Confirm the scope of work and bid proposals for completeness and accuracy.
• Gather proposals, on-site inspections, blueprints, specifications, and related documents to prepare roofing and siding project estimates for customers.
• Attend construction pre-bid, pre-con, and post-con meetings as needed.
• Work with clients, vendors, and others to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
• Maintain updated customer data in our company’s estimating and CRM programs.
• Our automated pricing programs allow you to analyze and compute the cost of labor, materials, and time required for a project.
• Work closely with the Director of Sales to ensure acceptable margin levels.
• Ability to continually learn and adapt to new techniques, product knowledge, and instruction.
• Track and manage awarded contracts, including estimating change orders, additions, credits, materials, and more.
• Maintain constant communication with sales leadership, homeowners, and office staff.

We’re looking for a siding installer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in Hardie, LP, vinyl, aluminum, and wood siding installation and repair, exterior remodeling experience, and a strong desire to learn new skills. This position offers a strong possibility for advancement within the company.

RESPONSBILITIES

• Installs and/or repairs fiber cement, vinyl, aluminum, and wood siding.
• Uses tools of the trade to ensure quality fit and finish with each project.
• Works with team members to complete projects on time.

REQUIREMENTS

We’re currently searching for repair technicians to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have experience in Hardie, LP, vinyl, aluminum, and wood siding installation and repair. Experience repairing and installing all steep slope roofing products like asphalt shingles, cedar, and metal. Low-slope (TPO, EPDM) experience would be a plus. To apply, you must have previous experience doing residential and commercial remodeling installations. Also, you must have an extensive background in handling repairs for slope roofing, siding, gutters, doors, and windows.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Continuous communication with customers and Field Superintendents on the progress of the job.

• Complete all reporting documents and paperwork.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum two years of installation experience.
• Knowledge of ladders, tools, and safety equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Must be capable of great workmanship.

• Ability to stand, bend, and kneel repeatedly or for extended periods.

To succeed in this role, you should be able to use hand tools, such as shingle cutters and roofing hatchets, and stand on ladders and scaffolds for long hours at a time. You also need to know how to handle materials (e.g., wood and asphalt) for different roofing styles and tasks.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Deliver projects within the timeline
• Follow safety rules
• Transport and load/unload roofing materials in a truck
• Lay new roofing materials such as asphalt, wood, steel, and plastics
• Inspect roofing for damage and perform any needed repairs
• Spray treatment chemicals on roofs and buildings to seal them from water and weather
• Clean rooftops by removing leaves, ice, and other debris
• Install insulation materials underneath the roofs

REQUIREMENTS

• Physical fitness level that will allow for quick movement, climbing, bending, and lifting heavy loads

We seek a full-time roofing and siding superintendent.

We’re seeking a full-time roofing and siding superintendent to join our team out of our South Elgin office. As a Roofing/Siding Superintendent, you would be responsible for the financial, administrative, and client-relations success of the projects to which you’re assigned. Major objectives include: managing the project to earn the profit anticipated in the bid and completing the project to the client’s satisfaction.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in the supervision and installation of ALL RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL ROOFING SYSTEMS, SIDING, AND GUTTERS.
• Strong computer skills are required along with strong organizational skills and job tracking abilities. Experience with one or more project management systems.
• OSHA 10 certification required. OSHA 30 Certification preferred.
• We are looking for those with proven leadership and the ability to manage teams with a willingness to “roll up his/her sleeves” and do what is necessary to get the job done.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret construction drawings.
• Knowledge of roofing and siding products.
• Attends job site start-ups as appropriate and needed, and assists in the orientation of the crew.
• Ensures that all actual costs for his projects are coded properly to promote estimate vs. actual analysis, including validating all subcontractor invoices.
• Approves vendor invoices and subcontractor requisitions and ensures that the costs are legitimate and charged to proper phases and cost categories.
• Monitors the progress of the project against the schedule and works with the crews to take action to mitigate or resolve project overruns.
• Schedules, conducts, and documents client and subcontractor meetings.
• A valid driver’s license and clean driving record (license will be screened for approval by our insurance company).
• Must be a team player and able to work in a fast-paced environment; self-motivated, innovative, hardworking individual, who can handle changing priorities and multiple tasks.
• Must be able to safely lift and move up to 80lbs.
• Bilingual a plus (Spanish speaking).
