So it was when Peggy T. of Naperville first contacted us in 2022.
Peggy had two requests for her replacement project. First, she wanted the work done in stages rather than all at once. Second, she wanted us to modify several of her existing window openings to accommodate a different window format.
Adjustments like these are no problem for our in-house and on-site exterior specialists. By the time we wrapped things up in late 2024, Peggy’s every wish had been fulfilled. And we once again had the chance to celebrate a job well done.
Planning A Multi-Stage Window Replacement

Coordinating Her Window Project With Her Available Budget
So, in 2022, we helped her map out a more workable plan of attack. This plan called for us to break the project down into sections of her home.
Peggy would pay for the first section upfront. Then, as more funds became available, she’d schedule each following section.
All told, it took a few visits and two-plus years. But we got the job done at a rate she could afford. And we were more than happy to accommodate her needs.
Modifying Peggy’s Existing Window Openings
Several of Peggy’s original windows extended all the way down to the floor. While they let in ample light, they gradually developed significant leaks.
When it was time for window replacement, she decided to go in another direction.
Instead of installing new windows of the same type, she opted for picture windows. This allowed her to update her home’s appearance while maintaining indoor light levels.
Framing The New Openings For Her Greater Chicago Home
Since the new windows wouldn’t reach the floor, they needed another means of support.
This required a bit of work on our part.
As each new section was replaced, we framed in a series of short walls to cut the existing window openings down to size. These walls were just the right height to hold the new windows firmly in place.
We also had to modify the exterior of each window opening. The goal? Updating the trim to match the new picture windows.
